The Network Transition

A Message from the Director

December 21, 2009

Judi Casey, MSW
Principal Investigator/ Director

The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation has provided full financial support for the Sloan Work and Family Research Network for the past thirteen years. This generous support has allowed us to provide all of our resources, events and publications free of charge to our users. Our current grant will end in June 2010. This spring, we will apply for one final transition grant which if approved will move us toward self-sufficiency. To that end, we have begun exploring different revenue generating business models to ensure the future viability of the Network.

During this transition phase, we want input from you! This is an opportunity for our users to participate in the creation of the next generation of the Network. Here's how you can get involved:

  • Share your comments and thoughts about the transition with me directly – call: 617-552-2866 or send me an email.

The Network has evolved into the premier online destination for work and family information. Visits to the site have tripled to over 300,000 this past year, and just last week, we hit a weekly all time high of 11,000 visits! This transition to self-sufficiency provides an exciting opportunity to build on our past successes. I hope that we can count on your support, and we welcome your feedback!
