Q: What is the purpose of this site?
A: The Sloan Work and Family Research Network aims to serve a global community of individuals interested in work and family research by providing resources, building knowledge and sharing information. Q: What are the limitations of the site’s search tool?
A:
The search tool does not recognize partial words—it searches for whole words only. For example, if you type the word “flex" or “flex*,” you will get zero results, but if you type “flexible," you will get 568 results. Also, “phrase searching” is not allowed and boolean operators (and, or, not) are not recognized. In other words, if I were to search for the phrase “flexible work”, entries that contain both “flexible” and “work” will be returned in the search results, but these words may or may not be found consecutively. These rules apply to all search tools on the Sloan Network site.
