New Work and Family Policy Resource: the Policy Mini-Brief

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new work-family policy resource: the Policy Mini-Brief Series. Our first issue focuses on Paid Sick Leave.

Resources for Policy Makers

The Network offers unbiased policy data about work and family trends, legislation, and statistics without lobbying.

Looking to position your state as forward thinking on work and family issues that impact constituents? Want to see legislative summary sheets of “hot” work and family topics with state-by-state comparisons? Need a summary of, or a press release on, the bills proposed and laws passed on work and family issues? You've come to the right place.

Whatever you need, we are your first stop for information on work and family policy.
  • Policy Briefs
The Policy Briefing Series provides state legislators and their staff with information about the policy implications of work and family issues and how these issues affect their constituents.

  • Bills and Statutes
The Work and Family Bills and Statutes Database was created for state policy makers to help provide an overview of the bills that have been proposed and the laws that have been passed in various states that are relevant to work and family issues.

  • Bills by Theme
The Work and Family Bills by Theme are presented primarily for state policy makers to help provide an overview of the bills that have been proposed in various states.

  • Statutes by Theme
The Work and Family Statutes by Theme are presented primarily for state policy makers to help provide an overview of the laws that have been passed in various states that are relevant to work and family issues.

  • Work and Family State Profiles
The State Profiles Project provides a snapshot of each state’s response to issues facing today’s working families. The Profiles Project also offers policymakers the opportunity to place the work and family agenda of their state into a national context.

  • Work and Family Policy Reports
On this page, you can find links to high quality work and family policy briefs and reports.

  • Mapping State Policies
The Sloan Network understands that policy trends can be difficult to conceptualize. We have created maps of some of the trends we have researched in order to create a user-friendly, and sometimes dramatic, visualization of trends in state polices.
