The effectiveness of flexible and compressed work week arrangements is evaluated using meta-analytic techniques. The authors are interested in how these different work schedules influence productivity/performance, job satisfaction, absenteeism, and satisfaction with work schedule. Results indicate that in general these flexible work schedules are positively correlated with the work-related criteria on which they were evaluated. The degree of this positive correlation depends on the specific criterion and schedule under consideration.
