Mary Secret is Associate Professor in the School of Social Work, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA where she teaches research methods and human behavior theory in the graduate program.  Her research interests and expertise focus on alternative childcare (parenting in the workplace), program evaluation and practice-research collaborations, workplace policies and environments that enhance employee and family well-being, and fatherhood and parenting capacity.  She developed and has taught an online work-family course to introduce work-family scholarship to social work graduate students and was a member of the Sloan Network Task Force on Web Supported Work-Family Learning Communities. Her work is published in Community, Work & Family, Public Personnel Management, Journal of Family Issues, Family Relations, Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, Journal of Social Work Education and Journal of Social Service Research.
