Biography:

Pamela Lirio is a doctoral candidate in Management (Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management area) in the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University.  She received her MBA in International Management from the Monterey Institute of International Studies (Monterey, California) and her BA in Communications with a minor in French from Boston College. Her research interests include generational diversity (particularly Generation X), global careers, international work and family issues and cross-cultural management.  Pamela’s dissertation research investigates the global careers of Generation X professionals and managers and how they address their work, family and personal demands given working in today’s 24-7 global economy.

 

Pamela’s most recent journal article is in Human Resource Management and is entitled “The Inclusion Challenge with Reduced-Load Professionals: The Role of the Manager” (with M.D. Lee, M.L. Williams, L. Haugen and E.E. Kossek, 2008). Other scholarly publications appear in Career Development International (2007) as well as book chapters in Research Companion to Work Hours and Work Addiction (Edward Elgar Publishing, 2006) and Work and Life Integration (Lawrence Erlbaum Publishers, 2005).  She has also presented her research internationally at conferences in Italy, Spain, England, the United States and Canada.  Pamela is fluent in English and French and has working capability in Spanish.  Her cultural heritage is Filipino-American but she is currently residing in Montréal, Canada with her daughter.
