Biography:

My research is centered on the problems of poverty, socioeconomic inequality, and social stratification in the United States and how these relate to the structure of the American labor market. My recent publications include “The New Labor Market Segmentation: Labor Market Dualism in the New Economy, (Social Science Research 2007), and “The Dark Side of the Protestant Ethic: A Comparative Analysis of Welfare Reform” with Andrea Coukos (Sociological Theory 2005).

Expertise: Single Parents, Flexible Work Schedules, Part-time or Reduced Hours Work, Work-Family Conflict, Labor Markets.
