Biography:
Julie Atkins is a Research Associate at the Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service. Her work focuses on the accessibility and coordination of early care and education and early intervention services for low-income special populations, including parents of children with special needs, children in the child welfare system, and English language learners. Child Care and Children with Special Needs: Challenges for Low-income Families is a recently completed project examining the work/family balance issues faced by low-income parents of children with special needs.
