Andrew Behnke is a third year graduate student in the department of Child Development and Family Studies at Purdue University. His interests focus on family relationships and the intersection of various contextual factors including, work, community, poverty, schools, and ethnicity. A fluent Spanish speaker, he has conducted qualitative studies with Latino families and is working with Scott Coltrane, Ross Parke, and Sharon Borthwick-Duffy on a study of Latino families coping strategies. He is also currently finishing work looking at Latino fatherhood on both sides of the US border, and two studies involving family and multiethnic comparisons of individuals in the military. His most recent publication is Educational and Occupational Aspirations of Latino Youth and Their Parents (2004) (with K. Piercy and M. Diversi) in the Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences, 26, 16-35.
