(forthcoming, 2004) organized around the theme of Children in Public: Places,
Geography, and Cultural Landscapes. The papers (by scholars from urban planning,
architecture, education. sociology, and folklore; and from the U.S., U.K., Australia,
Denmark, and Norway) were presented at the CWF co-sponsored May 2002 conference,
Designing Modern Childhoods. Ning de Coninck-Smith from the Univ. of Odense,
Denmark participated in CWF activities when she was a Visiting Scholar at Berkeley
in 2000-01.
