This presentation briefly describes a current OECD research effort to identify “good” practices that foster opportunities for older workers’ continued participation in the workforce.  It describes its findings on United States policies, points out challenges, barriers and disincentives to work for older Americans, and gives suggested policy actions to remove financial disincentives, encourage employers to retain and hire older workers, and improve the employability of older workers.
