Global Perspectives- 2nd Annual Conference of Work and Family
Deadline for Submission: March 24th, 2007
"Conference themes: research of (international) family-responsible programs, policies and practices, cross-cultural research of work and family, research on decision-making in a work and family context, the study of expatriates and their families, and coping and strategies for creating work-family enrichment. Our aim is deviate from the traditional conference characterized by very short presentations and limited time for feedback, and to stimulate high-quality, face-to-face interactions and discussions. Therefore paper presentations are scheduled to last 45 minutes each."

Send manuscripts in a Word file of no more than 30 pages to Aline D. Masuda at amasuda@iese.edu. Indicate which line of research to which your submission corresponds: POLICIES; CROSS; DM; EXPATS or COPING. Save your file as follows: ICWF_Track_Author. An example would be ICWF_POLICIES_Johnson. All authors will receive notification by May 15th, 2007.

"Possible subjects include: “Low-wage workers and economic insecurity, migrant workers, insecurity and the management and negotiation of risk (for example through family or communal resources), gendered and racialized experiences of risk, dangerous technologies and the negotiation of risk, risk and opportunity—under what circumstances can taking a risk bring benefits, and what kinds of workers are most likely to reap the rewards, changes over time—is ‘risk’ as new as is sometimes supposed, and what can a historical perspective say, the role of institutions in regulating risk.
