Stephen Sweet wrote a new Work-Family Encyclopedia entry, Job Insecurity.
The Phased Retirement and Part Time Work Topic Pages have updated information.
The Afterschool Care and Changing Definitions of Families Fact Sheets have new statistics.
Judi Casey presented at the Northeast Human Resource Association annual conference on Thursday, November 2, 2006. “Numbers At Work: Resources For Workforce Development” focused on using the resources of the Network to facilitate strategy around workforce development efforts.
Judi provided an update about the new resources available from the Network to corporate members of the National Work & Family Roundtable at their fall meeting in Boston on November 7, 2006. Work/life practitioners noted that the Effective Workplace Series and the statistics database will be particularly useful to them in their work.

Maggie Jackson of the Boston Globe discusses Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham, a law firm with 1,000 lawyers with a part-time policy that is "transparent and open to all," in "Part-Timers Find Room at Law Firm."
Alvin Powell of the Harvard University Gazette reports on a lecture at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government titled "Stopping for Directions: A Conversation About Family, Career and Success." The talk featured three "power couples" who shared their lifelong strategies for balancing two high-powered careers with family life, as discussed in "Power Couples Share Life-Balance Strategies."
